Michael A. Ortiz completed his master's degree in theology at the Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). In 2015, he completed a Ph.D. in theological education at the Central American Theological Seminary (TECA) in Latin America. Although he maintains his practice as a lawyer, he works full time at the Dallas Theological Seminary as Director of Spanish DTS and as Associate professor in the Department of World Missions and intercultural studies. Most of his ministry has been focused on theological education in Spanish-speaking countries, including extensive work in Cuba. His primary academic interests relate to global theological education and contextualization. He also currently serves as International Director for the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education and Interim Vice President for the South Central Region of the Evangelical Missiological Society.
