Luigi Peñaranda is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. He has been involved in pastoral ministry from a young age. He went to the United States as an international student, seeking academic and ministerial preparation. There he discovered that academic theological preparation systems are not so easy to navigate. Perhaps, from there, arose his desire to seek educational models that instead of reproducing inequality and privileging the privileged, provide accessibility, personal transformation, and liberation. Luigi is an associate professor of global leadership and Latino / Hispanic church studies at Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition, he serves as director of the theological postgraduate program in Spanish at that institution.
