José Daniel Montañez is an ordained bishop of the Church of God. He completed a BA in Social Work and Religious Studies (1986) at California State University in Long Beach. He attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, where he completed a Master's Degree in Theology and Biblical Studies (1990). He completed some graduate-level Public Administration courses at California State University Fresno. He earned his Doctor of Ministry in Intercultural Studies (2003) from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. On two occasions he had the privilege of serving as Executive Director of the Association for Hispanic Theological Education (AETH). Currently, he serves as an adjunct instructor in practical theology for the Hispanic Ministries Program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has served as Senior Pastor for the Central Church of God / Iglesia de Dios Central in San Antonio, Texas since August 2006.
